The Celebration of Christ
This time of year is my favorite, there is a special spirit that fills the air of joy, love, and laughter. To me these feelings unite us as we grow closer to family and loved ones in the holiday spirit. It’s the one time of year where people of all faiths are united in celebrating Christ. Perhaps that is why I’m overjoyed to share with you one of my very favorite holiday traditions. For the past 5 years we have had the privilege and great joy to attend The Celebration of Christ Concert. I get emotional when I think about people from all different faiths coming together to celebrate Christ through music. Joy just emulates from the performers and love outpour’s into the audience. To me I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this holiday season than reconnecting with friends and family members and enjoying a wonderful musical night. I feel like this day in age we are afraid to voice opinions of belief in any way because we are afraid of what others will think of us. Far too long I have kept my testimony a secret to myself. Well I don’t want to be afraid to say I believe in Christ, I know that He lives, I know that He loves me, and I know that through His atonement He knows me personally. To me Christ will always be Christmas. He is why we celebrate every year. Far too often we get so ‘wrapped’ up in the giving and receiving of gifts, time off, and yummy treats we lose sight of the reason to celebrate the One who gave us the greatest gift of all, redemption and eternal life.
Come and let’s celebrate together at ‘The Celebration of Christ’ performance on November 27th and 28th. I would love to hear your feedback of how you enjoyed it, I can promise you won’t be disappointed. Go ahead and make it your new family tradition. Happy Holidays.
