God Has Plans

God Has Plans

So often in life our path takes a change that we are unable to avoid. Sometimes leaving us feeling stranded on the side of the road broken down wondering when things will turn up. These past two weeks I must admit I have felt a little bit broken down myself, as to be expected with the changes that come to one’s life with bringing children into this world. However it’s not the sleepless nights or the fatigue of taking care of 3 children now that has left me broken hearted. Rather it’s the fact of trying to accept the fact that God has plans for me even though I may not know what they are. You see, when we brought little Louie into this world I would have never expected he would be the last child I would be able to carry and deliver. Let me explain… flash backwards to giving birth to Venice. I hemorrhaged really bad loosing 10 pounds in blood and almost my life. I can’t express to anyone how terrifying that moment was to me. It took a lot out of me, and months of recovery, emotionally and physically. However the doc believed it to be by chance of this happening, so I moved on with life and remembered again what I need to often tell myself… that God has plans. Then I became pregnant again. This time we wanted to be surprised by gender. It kept us wondering and imagining who this little person would be in my belly and made it so special, I’m so glad we did it, and I would do it again if I could… but I can’t. You see when sweet little Louie came into this world everything was perfectly fine until the second night where I hemorrhaged again. As I was sitting up in bed I recognized the feeling all too well that I felt after delivering Venice and I began to panic. Soon enough there was an army of people helping me out to help control the bleeding. Just when they felt like they gained control, the blood just kept coming. However, thanks to an amazing inspired doctor he was able to do a procedure to help stop the bleeding that really helped save my life–again.  Matt and I had some quiet alone moments together in the hospital after all the commotion died down. We couldn’t help but tear up a little bit and count our blessings that yet again I made it through this traumatic experience. At moments we just stared at each other in silence holding hands not even wanting to think of what the outcome could have been. The real tragedy hit when we...

Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015

Christmas gets more fun each year, especially with having two little kiddos. I took some pictures but I really do love video so much. Theres just something about it that makes me feel like I’m stepping back in that moment of time, and our videos have become precious treasures to us. I will however say I am ashamed of how many times I say “Oh my heck” in this video. So I’m adding this to my New Year’s Resolution list to stop using that phrase! I think I counted me saying it at least 6 times! haha The video is...

Flores Fam Trip

Flores Fam Trip

When it comes to my family nothing in life is more important to me than them. Being half hispanic, we always joked with Matt that when he married me that if you get one bean you get the whole burrito and that has held true. We are a very close knit family and we really are each others best friends. So spending an entire week with them is my heaven on earth. This trip was really emotional for me. Being the first one out of my family getting married and having kids I have watched them all grow and with a growing family you always worry will we be as close? So far we have kept our relationships strong. My mom always says her one goal in this life is for us all to be close even when we grow up, have kids, and a new life. This has become my true desire as well over the years. Especially now with my baby twin brothers get ready to submit their papers to serve a 2 year LDS mission. So this time felt extra precious as it would very well be a last trip spent all together for the next 2 years. Things in life come and go, lose value over time, and often we end up just wanting more. However family leaves us full with love we can take with us into the eternities. I’m so blessed to have a family like mine. Here are the highlights of out trip below. Highlights: Playing games every chance we got- Monopoly, Risk, and Sorry. Making everything into a competition (so many boys ha) Playing football and running around on the beach until sunset. Eating at the most run down restaurant because we were all so Han-gry (hungry and angry not a good combination). We all laughed about how it was the worst food! Stockton asking for an ice-cream bowl every morning (acai bowl). Going on morning runs with my brothers by the ocean. (okay so maybe I only went once because I got shin splints) Matt and Jake betting they would eat a fried worm and they did! (Don’t worry I refused to kiss him until he brushed his teeth.) Going on nightly IN-N-OUT runs. Sitting all in the same room talking about anything and everything and laughing our heads off. Talking about our futures, about who we want to become and do in life. Stockton collecting seashells with everyone. Sissy holding that little orange bucket everywhere on the beach and putting anything she could find inside it. Celebrating Amber’s birthday and waking stockton up so he could help devour the cake. Watching my Dad hold Venice’s hand and walking up...

Family Pictures

Family Pictures

So for a while I got out of blogging. It was a thing I wanted to do for a while, to spend more time in other areas of life I wanted to be perfecting. Lately I have really enjoyed it more and have found it fun again. This time however I’m doing it for a different reason, I’m doing it for me. I had a lot of pressure to blog about certain things before and felt sucked into the whole social part of it. So I’m starting off fresh again. I still do keep a journal which I love. There is just something so sacred and special about keeping a journal, your safe place from the world. So keep a journal if you don’t it’s actually really therapeutic. Anyways I’ve been wanting to share these family pictures that my dear friend Brooklyn took of us. Family pictures are always exhausting but they are something I cherish so much. It was also just fun to catch up with an old friend while doing it. At the very beginning of the shoot Stocky found a puddle of water and of course jumped right into it. However we could not have asked for a more sunny warm day in November so I let it go, after all kid’s will be kid’s. I was not so light about him and Venice licking rocks though. Why do kids do gross things again? Anyways everything turned out great in the end. We could not be happier with how they turned...

Our time in Brazil

Our time in Brazil

A couple of weeks ago we went and visited Dave and Bianca (Matt’s parent’s) in Salvador Brazil, where they are serving as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The time that we spent there with them was beyond precious. The last time we saw Dave had been 2 years ago and Venice wasn’t even born yet, so being reunited was so special. This trip will always have a special place in our hearts. So I thought I would list the good moments and the funny ones that we want to remember. Good Moments: Nonna singing Stocky to sleep every night and him looking into her eyes like they were in a movie love scene. Nonna has a great voice and he was so captivated. Watching NCIS like the old days with Matt’s parents and eating popsicles. Waiting to see the monkeys eat the bananas from Dave and Bianca’s windows every morning. Stockton performing and singing songs about 4Life and Nonna and Nonno on the piano. Eating the best ceviche of my life and then eating a second plate of it all in the same meal. Watching Stockton play in the water with Nonna and laughing his head off. Watching Matt eat acai bowls until he couldn’t eat anymore. Eating Bianca’s famous grilled cheese sandwiches. (I think they are the best because she makes them with love) Realizing how much Matt is a little Dave in so many ways. Walking into Dave’s office and seeing all the missionaries they tend to on a daily basis and feeling overwhelmed by the spirit. Getting fathers blessings and feeling renewed to become even better and work harder spiritually. Matt and I Touring Old Town Salvador with Dave. Also trying the best limeade concoction ever from a street vendor that Dave introduced us to. He thought Dave was a tour guide because of his missionary tag. We had a good laugh about that. Watching Dave and Bianca hold hands with stocky while walking. Seeing Dave and Venice meet for the very first time. Funny Moments: When Stocky peed his pants on our last flight and he went around pantless all over the mall in just a pull up. Watching Stocky and Matt ride a mechanical lion that they drove around the Mall. Dave bribing Stocky with a quarter if he would sleep in the car. He did. He’s become very motivated by money now. Stocky using his quarter to buy a turtle at the aquarium but then asking for it back. Not really understanding the concept of money yet. Dave and Bianca both lifting up stocky in the air so he could touch the sting ray. Stocky’s face pure joy! When...
